Fatal illness while bathing at Poetto: a 66-year-old woman dies

Tragedy this morning in the waters of Poetto.

A 66-year-old woman from Cagliari, Maria Cristina Inserra, known to all as China, died while bathing at the first stop: a place she frequented assiduously throughout the year.

When some beachgoers realized that she was in difficulty , they alerted a lifeguard, who immediately intervened to rescue the woman: she was unconscious and took her to the beach, where the crew of a medical ambulance from the 118 service confirmed that she was dead.
According to an initial examination of the body, it would appear that the victim fell ill while bathing and was not even able to scream for help.

A patrol from the Police Headquarters Flying Squad also intervened at Poetto: the officers ascertained that it was an accident and the investigation was immediately closed.

The deputy prosecutor on duty authorized the transfer of the body to the mortuary.
