While waiting for the central guardrail to be built, the Province of South Sardinia has established a limit of 80 kilometers per hour on the provincial road 2 which connects Carbonia to Villamassargia.
A decision taken after the repeated accidents that have occurred in recent months, four of which were fatal, with the death of six people.
The latest tragedy a week ago: Antonio Cannas , 78, a retired firefighter, and his wife Sofia Elsa Zoncheddu , 84, died on board a Punto which, after invading the oncoming lane , collided head-on with an Audi driven by a thirty-year-old from Iglesias.
In addition to the sign indicating the prohibition to exceed 80 per hour , signs have also been installed announcing the presence of the mobile speed camera which will therefore be frequently put in place while waiting for the works to start towards the end of the summer installation of the central dividing barrier of the four expressway lanes.
