Fatal accident on the Olbia-Sassari road, smartphones seized
It cannot be ruled out that a distraction may have been at the root of the tragedy
The Traffic Police have started the first investigations into the fatal accident which occurred yesterday morning , around 8am, on Olbia Sassari, near Berchidda .
A 72-year-old pensioner, Antonio Gavino Fois, lost his life and his wife is hospitalized in serious conditions in Sassari hospital.
The officers seized all the cell phones of the people involved in the accident .
In particular , checks will be carried out on the telephone of the Venetian professional driving the Land Rover Defender which hit Fois' Lancia Y.
The small car was violently thrown towards an embankment, where it crashed. The hypothesis has yet to be proven, but it cannot be ruled out that a distraction was at the root of the tragedy .
Both the person driving the Defender and the victim had disembarked from a ferry in Olbia and were traveling towards Sassari .
The Tempio Prosecutor's Office ordered an autopsy on Fois' body .
