Fatima Haimer , the 66-year-old Moroccan woman who has long lived in the Baronia , was acquitted because she was incapable of understanding , accused of having set up an organization specializing in fictitious marriages between Italian citizens and foreign girls who were then sent into prostitution between Siniscola and the 'hinterland.
The sentence of the monocratic judge of Nuoro, Claudia Falchi Delitala, came after the outcome of a psychiatric report requested by the defense lawyers - Gianluca Sannio, Giuseppe Casu and Giovanni Atezena - with which the accused had been declared totally incapable of understanding and want.
Her son, Abderrazzak Fliga , aged 35, ended up on trial with her, with the same charges as his mother, and a young victim, a Moroccan girl aged 25, granddaughter of Fatima Haimer, accused of circumvention of an incapable person and fraud because, once in Sardinia, she allegedly took advantage of the condition of an elderly man suffering from an illness, with whom she was forced to prostitute herself, scamming him.
For them, the trial will continue on March 23 but before another judge.
