Sarrabus will be the protagonist at the ''San Francesco Marathon'' , the prestigious sporting event which will be held in Assisi on November 5th . An opportunity to make citizens aware of an important issue: that of organ donation.

The Sarrabese standard-bearer will be the 43-year-old Fabio Orrù from Muravera who will act as guide athlete for Stefano Petranca , 46, a blind marathon runner originally from Corigliano d'Otranto in Puglia. In the front line to support the two athletes Aido Sardegna and the inter-municipal section of Sarrabus of the association for organ donation. The project, which includes fundraising for Aido , has received the patronage of the Municipality of Muravera , San Vito and Villaputzu> .

Communication is provided by the Municipality through social media. «We have a responsibility to promote and support organ donation», explained the medical mayor, Salvatore Piu, «Every single donation can have a lasting impact on families and individuals who find themselves in a situation of extreme difficulty. We must educate ourselves and our loved ones about the importance of this decision and overcome any fears or uncertainties that may surround the subject. It is vital to understand that organ donation not only saves lives, but demonstrates the potential for human solidarity that is inherent in all of us. Organ donation reminds us that empathy and kindness can overcome any barrier. Together we can breathe new life into those who need it and create a better future for all."
