Exceptional event in Porto Palma: caretta caretta lays 123 eggs

Exceptional event in Porto Palma, in the Arbus marina, where yesterday evening a caretta caretta deposited 123 eggs on the beach of the old tuna fishery.

Some residents informed the Forestry Corps, which intervened with the marine corps of Oristano and the land corps from Guspini.

Foresters immediately secured the eggs by transporting them to a sheltered location. Then, with the help of the Porto Palma nautical centre, a fence was made so that the hole with the eggs inside was clearly visible and not walkable.

After having deposited the eggs, the turtle resumed its journey in the sea.
