«There is anger, disappointment, wind and rain».
No good news from the meeting between Sardinia Regional President Alessandra Todde and Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti for Enrico Pulisci, one of the four workers who spent three days working on silo number three, 40 meters above ground.
The dispute over the future of Eurallumina was one of the topics discussed during the summit at the ministry.
"We spoke with Minister Giorgetti about the Eurallumina situation," the president said. "It emerged that the Ministry of Economy and Finance is willing to collaborate and reconvene with the company to determine how to establish a course of action that can resolve the dispute."
"What I'm taking home," Todde says, "is a message to the company to immediately reopen discussions with the Ministry of Economy and Finance: there is a willingness and openness to address the problem together . I therefore urge the company not to become rigid because the government, along with the Region of course, has expressed its desire to find compromises quickly."
Following the court order that froze the assets in Italy of the factory's owner, the Russian company Rusal, the Ministry of Economy and Finance has jurisdiction over the custody and management of the plant, through the State Property Agency.
From Rome, however, says Pulisci, the expected news regarding the release of the funds essential for the plant's operations has not arrived: "The deafening silence from the institutions weighs like a millstone."
The union assessments will be made tomorrow morning, but the workers will spend the fourth consecutive night in the silo at Eurallumina: " The struggle continues, the picket line isn't stopping."
