Forestry Corps officers raided the countryside of Maracalagonis . An area of approximately five thousand square meters was seized, and two people were charged with the illegal disposal and burning of hazardous waste .

The operation was launched after a series of stakeouts by Sinnai station staff in an area long used as a landfill.

The officers were able to trace two people who were systematically dumping and burning various types of waste, including plastic and asbestos fragments. The Prosecutor's Office ordered the seizure of the area and the truck used to transport the materials .
