What if the energy we need came from our roofs? A study by ISPRA (the Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) dating back to 2023, but which after just a year and a half shows no need for revamping , suggests it would be much more than a hypothesis.
Rooftop photovoltaics, more than a fad, could become a necessity. And it could also significantly contribute to Italy's 2023 renewable energy targets, providing over 90 GW of new green power.
Rooftops, in fact, represent an untapped resource for energy generation, helping reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Using them for photovoltaic systems avoids the consumption of agricultural or natural land.
