There are 12 fires that were registered in Sardinia today and two of these required the intervention of the Forestry Corps aircraft.
The emergencies were triggered in Assemini , in the "Sa Traia" locality, with shutdown coordinated by the staff of the Forestry Corps Station of Uta and the GAUF nucleus of Cagliari, together with the personnel on board the helicopter from the CFVA base of Pula.
1 team from the Forestas Agency from the Monastir construction sites, 1 team from the Cagliari firefighters, 1 patrol from the Monastir carabinieri and 2 teams of volunteers from the San Sperate and Monastir associations worked. The fire, declared as an internal interface, damaged a farmhouse, caused the explosion of some gas cylinders and the death of some dogs and poultry , kept in precarious sanitary conditions. There are no injuries to people. The flames covered an area of about 3 hectares of uncultivated land.
The other large fire was that of Bonorva , in the “Nuraghe Sant'Elena” area. The shutdown was coordinated by the staff of the Bonorva and Thiesi Forestry Corps Station, assisted by the staff on board the helicopter from the Anela base. On site 1 team from the Forestas Agency from the Thiesi shipyard. The fire covered an area of about 5 hectares of bare pasture and cereal crops.
