«May 1st has just passed, the day dedicated to reflection on the importance of work and the dignity it guarantees to people, and we teachers who are eligible following the 2020 competition are more embittered and disappointed than ever at living in uncertainty . We firmly ask, without discounts, that we be recognized for what passing the competition with the right has assigned to us: the role, decidedly avoiding "forced breaks" or "long-term parking"".

The 106 teachers eligible for the 2020 ordinary primary competition, unfairly penalized compared to their colleagues from other regions, ask for dignity and stability.

A delegation of teachers tells the Kafkaesque story that, despite themselves, they are forced to face: «Due to the arrival of the new Pnrr competitions, we suitable Sardinian teachers - unlike our colleagues from the peninsula - will find ourselves at the tail end of the winners of the new selection without having benefited from the second year of validity of the ranking due to the one-year delay in its publication in Sardinia. We participated in the ordinary competition which was held on 21 April 2020, which provided for the filling of available places for the years 2021/2022 - 2022/2023. With reference to primary and nursery schools, the law establishes that the quota allocated to the rankings is covered annually by scrolling the merit positions of the competition procedures: if there are further vacancies, 50% should respectively be allocated to the placement role from the extraordinary procedure and to entry into the role from the ordinary competition".

In short, a real mockery for the Sardinian teachers who have seen their teaching positions stolen, and who are now looking to the future with concern.

«The delay in the publication of the ranking by the Sardinia Region alone risks causing damage to the teachers who relied on the competition – explain the teachers -, given that they could be placed in the role after their colleagues called from the 2023 ordinary competition ranking in event in which the Superintendency limited itself to applying the article of law referred to, without considering the rights acquired by us. We only ask that the suitable teachers from the competition four years ago be called before those who took the competition in 2023. In fact, following point 7 of the Ministerial Decree relating to the hiring of basic Pnrr competitions, we will find ourselves in a ranking of exhaustion frozen for years. We believe that all this is unconstitutional and humiliating: we ask for equal treatment and the right to an exhaustive ranking."

The latest insult for the teachers who had passed the 2020 competition - many of whom in recent months had to get involved again and take new exams to avoid being left out - came in recent days, when the following invitations arrived the writings just completed. «Some calls are scheduled for October – the teachers say -, this means that the ranking for the next school year will not be ready within the expected time frame: now more than ever we need to know if they will draw from ours».
