He is accused of having administered drugs dangerous to human health to cattle intended for slaughter, and therefore for the meat trade, without informing the Ministry of Health and without even waiting the necessary time for the active ingredient of the drugs to decay.

For this reason , a 55-year-old breeder and trader from Oristano was arrested as part of an investigation by the Carabinieri of the NAS of Sassari: he is under house arrest on charges of adulteration and counterfeiting of food substances.

The measure, carried out this morning by the Carabinieri, comes from a long investigative activity that began several months ago. The NAS military, through observation services, technical activities and numerous registry and identification checks of the cattle, discovered the irregularities implemented by the animal trader.

During the investigations, a transit stable in the province of Nuoro, two farms in the Oristano area, always of fattening cattle and of a total of 485 heads of cattle, were seized. Furthermore, in the Oristano area, two farms were discovered that had never been reported to the competent health authorities. In the province of Sassari , a transit stable attributable to the suspect with 70 cattle inside was seized by administrative order, for irregularities in the identification and registration of the animals.
