Dozens of Sardinians spent the night at Bari airport after the Ryanair flight to Cagliari at 6.25pm yesterday, Thursday 18 December, was cancelled due to fog .

They camped out for more than half a day and slept as best they could at the Apulian port . A room was made available to them this morning. There's no set departure time yet, but one of the travelers tells us it could be this evening at 9:30 PM or even tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM .

There's been enormous disruption as we prepare to return home for the Christmas holidays, not to mention the fact that some have lost days of work and others are in a hurry to return to the island for family reasons.

Yesterday afternoon, poor visibility caused by fog actually caused the diversion of several incoming flights and the cancellation of some departing flights at Bari airport .

The situation has returned to normal and already late yesterday evening, as can be seen on the airport's website, several flights were landing regularly.

But the Sardinians still have to wait, at least until this evening. After bivouacking for a night without any support, without any ground personnel to give them directions, at least until this morning.
