Maximum solidarity with the healthcare workers and law enforcement involved in the attempted assault that occurred last Sunday in the Emergency Room of the San Francesco Hospital. And zero tolerance for physical and verbal violence. This was expressed by the general director of the ASL n. 3 of Nuoro, Paolo Cannas , on behalf of the entire strategic management and all the employees of the ASL 3 of Nuoro, expressing solidarity and closeness to the nurse and the officer who intervened, and asking for maximum severity towards this latest episode. Also taking into account the anti-violence decree approved last September 27.

"A story - Cannas declares - that has no excuses or mitigating circumstances and deserves to be only condemned . It is unacceptable that - even after the awareness campaign of recent months and the recent approval of more severe rules - health personnel, called to carry out a delicate function in the service of health protection, should still fear for their safety. I am not exaggerating when I say that, having learned of the episode, I felt personally attacked myself ".

"I want to thank - continues the ASL Director - all the operators of the Nuoro Emergency Department who, every day, are on the front line to ensure care and assistance to citizens, and it is unthinkable that they should fear for their safety while doing their job, trying to save human lives. My thanks go to the police force for their intervention, as always timely. I hope for maximum rigor also on this episode and, at the same time, I want to reassure the staff as we do not intend to lower our guard and we are constantly committed to preventing the repetition of such attacks".

A 40-year-old from Nuoro ended up in handcuffs , accused of resisting a public official because after the police intervened he lunged at an officer, pushing him. The man appeared in a summary trial and was placed under house arrest .
