"The repercussions have created problems, even for citizen services; for example, Banca Intesa San Paolo was open on alternate days for a period and is now closed ."

Mayor Fabio Lai, a month and a half after the accident, refers to the consequences of the diesel spill, by a tanker, which occurred on August 9th . The vehicle had just disembarked from the Delcomar ferry in La Maddalena. In a few minutes , the dock, the adjacent concession parking lot, and the Amendola seafront, an essential artery of the internal road system, were flooded , with temporary closure.

The slopes of the dock and the timely interventions with the banners avoided damage at sea; however, it was not the same on land. There were many inconveniences in the first few days after the accident, also for the other commercial activities on the street.

The fact is that, after several rather rapid remediation interventions, removal of the soaked asphalt and its replacement, the removed material is still piled up on the dock, awaiting disposal.

Another consequence is that much of the parking lot is still closed (in La Maddalena they certainly aren't abundant). As for the bank, which continues with external service, with a resolution of last September 20, the City Council authorized it to temporarily position a camper on the adjacent Via Corsica, to be used as a mobile office. The positioning of the structure, it is written in the resolution, is dictated by the need and urgency to continue the banking activities of the branch, currently unusable due to the recent event that occurred on the nearby commercial dock.
