Depopulation, healthcare, parking: the opposition dictates the agenda for the Burchi administration.

It's going to be a hot autumn. Lanusei is struggling to stem depopulation (it's under the 5,000-residence threshold) and must regain its lost leadership role. Deadlines loom, and the opposition has a political agenda to propose for the coming months. Parking in the hospital area, the Barracellare company, land security, healthcare, depopulation, and waste management are the key issues according to opposition councilors. "We welcome the €1 million funding for the area surrounding the ARST station on the lower ring road," councilors Marco Melis, Bettina Pisanu, Nadir Congiu, Denis Pittalis, and Michela Tegas wrote in a statement released in the last few hours. "But while we wait for the project to be drawn up and the work is completed, we have long been calling for an immediate solution to the parking problem in the hospital area, considering the implementation of one-way traffic to recover several parking spaces that would address the problem in the short term." Following access to the documents, two proposals were developed by the offices, for which the reason for a position taken and the related implementation is still unclear."
Given that dogs and cats were poisoned in the Seleni forest, the opposition "expresses concern about the lack of control and oversight of the area. In this regard, we recall that, with our group's favorable vote, the regulation establishing the Barracellare company was approved. However, there has been no official communication regarding the status of the process or the actual activation of the service."
According to current events, Tarip bills are currently being delivered to residents. "We emphasize the urgency," the minority council member noted, "of starting a structured discussion on waste disposal and pricing as early as this fall to prevent high bills from overwhelming families and local businesses."
Having laid bare the problems that, in their view, must be addressed without delay, the opposition group is calling on the Burchi Administration for a comprehensive discussion. A timely update on the actions already taken is provided. "We believe it is essential to convene a public meeting with the population as soon as possible to address, in a transparent and shared manner, the issues of local security, the critical issues related to healthcare and the functioning of the air rescue service, and the specific needs of the area. We also ask for the establishment of a schedule of periodic meetings between the administration, city councilors, and citizens to foster ongoing dialogue and the participatory development of solutions." Another key issue is the ongoing demographic decline, "with a growing number of citizens—the minority group notes—relocating their residences to other locations. This is an alarming signal, requiring an urgent, unified, and structured response from the municipal administration. We call for the establishment of a permanent discussion table on depopulation."
