The delays in starting the restoration works on a section of the tourist railway line risk making the entire programming of the tourist season of the green train for 2023 skipping. They call tourist agencies from all over Europe, including Italy, but the representatives of the Esedra cooperative , which manages the service along the Macomer-Bosa road, cannot give an answer .

The railway line had been damaged by the fires of July last year , destroying about 4,000 wooden sleepers, thus compromising the passage of the green train in the section between Tresnuraghes and Bosa Marina. Since then, a race against time has begun, to recover the necessary resources and to be able to intervene to restore the damaged railway section.

Last September, Arst started the technical study and prepared the maintenance intervention, but the situation still appears to be stable. It was supposed to be operational within this month, but the situation seems to make everything move perhaps to next summer. In fact, the restoration work has not yet begun.

«Everything is at a standstill - says the president of the Esedra cooperative, Rossana Muroni - we don't get any signal, despite the fact that tourist agencies from all over Europe have been asking us for some time. With this situation, however, we cannot do any programming and reject reservations . The 2023 season, therefore, risks skipping again ».

The municipal administration of Macomer is taking an interest in the situation, urging the Arst. «The delays worry us a lot, because we risk missing the appointment with the tourists. For our territory, the green train railway line has a certain strategic importance, for tourism, environmental and archaeological development. We will urge Arst to guarantee the resumption of the restoration work on the line as soon as possible».
