It is not a free all, but the Region has now adopted new rules for the movement of sheep and cattle within the regional territory. The deer disease outbreak recently discovered in Busachi did not allow for a return to normality, but in the offices of the General Directorate of the Health Department, attempts were made to run for cover, to avoid total stalemate.

The provision defines two zones. In the first, Zone A (which includes the territories in the provinces of Sassari, Gallura, Nuoro and Ogliastra) where the virus has not currently been detected, farms will be able to move the animals, without restrictions, throughout the island. While in the remaining part of the Island, Zone B, movements will be permitted without restriction within the same area and movements towards Zone A will also be possible, but only after tests (Pcr) with negative results.

The Region has also indicated the methods of transporting the animals for slaughter. The determination will remain in force until January 10 and may be modified according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation.

“We are working closely with the Ministry of Health. The surveillance and control activities», explains the regional health councilor, Carlo Doria, «continue scrupulously with the utmost promptness. The priority remains that of being able to guarantee our farmers the resumption of movement outside the region, in safety ».
