File in the Prosecutor's Office and request for indictment for the three defendants in the trial for the 11 deaths due to Covid in the Cardiology department of the Santissima Annunziata in Sassari in March 2020.

These are the results of the hearing which was held this morning before the preliminary hearing judge Gian Paolo Piana, which saw the discussion of the prosecutor Paolo Piras, the civil parties and the defense lawyers of Fiorenzo Delogu, coordinator of the local crisis unit in the area socio-healthcare, by Bruno Contu, health director of the Aou of Sassari and by Giorgio Steri, extraordinary commissioner of the ATS Sardinia.

The deputy prosecutor asked to send the three defendants to trial while the defense lawyers for Contu and Steri, Nicola Satta and Guido Manca di Bitti, asked the judge to reformulate the charges for their clients with more precision. Clarifying further what the omissions of the two defendants had been and also producing two sentences on similar trials in court in Sassari.

The preliminary hearing judge accepted the request for Contu and Steri, sending the files to the prosecutor's office, but not for Delogu, believing that, in that case, the accusations were clearer. The proceedings have been postponed until June 7th.
