Also in the courtroom was the lawyer for Inail, a civil party in the trial. The death of Romanian worker Marin Rosif Rasu, victim of an accident at work on a construction site in La Maddalena, has been the focus of investigations and endless trial proceedings for 13 years. A legal ordeal for the man's family, assisted by lawyer Giacomo Serra, and for the defendants.

Today the judges of the Tempio Tribunal have acquitted everyone, because the fact does not exist. The reality is that it has never been clarified why and how Marin Rosif Rasu was pierced by the foot of a sawhorse, a non-pointed, non-sharp object covered with a layer of cement.

The prosecutor Daniela Fiori had requested the acquittal of those responsible for the construction site and the works: Mauro Manuedda, Ionel Rus and Giovanni Battista Godelmoni, defended by the lawyers Luca Montella, Gianmario Lisca and Enrico Gatto.

The civil party's lawyer expressed strong doubts, because the Spresal labor inspectors had established that the construction site where the tragedy occurred was not up to standard.

Years later, however, it has not been clarified how it was possible that Rasu was impaled by his foot on a sawhorse with a rounded tip on a landing without scaffolding .
