The coroner, Angela Seddaiu, by order of the Tempio Public Prosecutor's Office in charge of the investigation, will perform the autopsy on Tuesday 4 February on the bodies of the two fishermen who were victims of the tragic accident that occurred last Saturday in the sea of Isola Rossa.
The restaurateur from Sassari, Pietro Satta, 48, and his friend from Genoa, 71, Maurizio Rossi, a long-time resident of Trinità d'Agultu, died following the impact of the vessel “Garupa” , the 6.5-meter semi-cabin boat that ended up against the rocks of Punta Li Canneddi, near the beach of La Marinedda. The boat capsized, turning into a trap that left no escape for the two fishermen.
Investigators will have to clarify the time of death and the causes, whether determined by the impact or if the death is a consequence of drowning. The rescuers intervened around 12:30, while the reports from the Facebook group “Follow De Sun” would have arrived at 9:30, when during an excursion in the area they noticed an overturned boat, also mistaken for a large marine animal. Doubts that will be the subject of investigations by the institutions in charge.
