Cagliari, apartment on fire in San Michele: building evacuated

Alarm was raised late this evening after a fire broke out inside a third-floor apartment in a building on Via Carnia, in the San Michele neighborhood of Cagliari.

Shortly thereafter, the area was illuminated by the flashing lights of police cars and 118 ambulances that rushed to the scene, along with firefighter teams from the Viale Marconi headquarters, who ordered the evacuation of the entire building.

During the intervention, Via Bosco Cappuccio, the road that connects Piazza San Michele with Viale Monastir, was closed to traffic.

The fire was quickly put out: some minor poisoning was reported, but fortunately there were no reports of serious injuries.

Following an initial inspection, it emerged that the fire may have started due to a short circuit.
