A road accident occurred this afternoon on State Road 292, in the Cuglieri area. A transport company van went off the road: a man was injured and was airlifted to the hospital by Areus helicopter.
According to initial reconstructions, the driver lost control of the van on a straight stretch of road. The vehicle violently struck the guard rail and then overturned into a field at the side of the road.
The alarm was raised immediately, and the fire brigade team from the Cuglieri detachment, the 118 emergency number and the Carabinieri intervened on site.

Given the injured man's condition, medical workers requested the intervention of the air ambulance, and the man was taken to the hospital.
