While he was carrying out an inspection at a company – Tecnosolution – on State Road 131 in the Sestu area, he was crushed , for reasons yet to be ascertained, by the sliding gate – heavy and several metres long – that gives access to the structure, suffering serious injuries.
This is how Nicolò Meloni, a 26-year-old from Cagliari (he would have turned 27 in a few days) who worked as a security guard for the Pegaso Security company, died.
After the alarm was raised by his colleague, who arrived shortly after, the firefighters, 118 personnel and even the Carabinieri intervened on the scene. However, attempts to save the young man's life were in vain.
According to what has emerged, the victim tried in every way to ask for help: when the twenty-six-year-old was crushed he even fired six gunshots to try to attract attention. In vain.
Investigations have been launched into the incident, conducted not only by the military but also by the technical staff of the Spresal of the ASL of Cagliari, charged with verifying and reconstructing the dynamics of the incident.
The Judicial Authority was informed of the facts and opened a file, ordering the transfer of the victim's body to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari for examinations.
