He criticized General Roberto Vannacci's book on social media and received a long series of threats, including death threats. The victim is the professor of the University of Cagliari Massimo Arcangeli , professor of ancient, philological-literary and historical-artistic sciences.

" You have to leave Italy, you and all the depraved people like you, before we open the hunt... Better you do it on your own feet ", is one of the most disturbing comments that appeared on the professor's bulletin board.

The rector and the general manager of the University, Francesco Mola and Aldo Urru , expressed " full and unconditional solidarity with their colleague who was heavily threatened in the exercise of free expression of thought and speech.

«The University of Cagliari - we read in the University press release - has always been an inclusive and never divisive place of ideals, projects, ideas and opinions, a place of open and free discussion in which everyone must feel safe and protected outside beyond their own political, religious, cultural or gender orientations. Therefore, we cannot do anything but condemn such cowardly gestures or words which have the sole objective of undermining our institution and the civil society in which we operate."

Arcangeli, already the first signatory of a petition to Prime Minister Meloni against the freedom of the military writer, announced that he had given a mandate to his lawyer to report the owner of the "indicted" profile to the Police , together with those of other authors of threatening comments.

«All those who tried to intimidate me with the weapons of defamation, denigration and personal offense will follow the same fate in the next few days – he explains –».
