The downward curve of Covid continues in Sardinia . Albeit with some territorial differences. This was highlighted by the Gimbe Foundation in its usual monitoring on Mondays.

In the week between 10 and 16 March there was an improvement in the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants (25.1 compared to 29.8 in the previous survey) and there was a decrease in new cases (-15.5%) compared to the week last. The most evident drop in the province of Sassari with 21 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and a -33.3%. The metropolitan city of Cagliari follows with 29 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (-21.3%), then Southern Sardinia with 26 (-15.5% compared to the previous week).

On the other hand, against the trend, the cases of coronavirus in Oristano (28, +50%) and in the Nuoro area (24, +29.7%) are on the rise.

The number of beds in the medical area (6.6%) occupied by Covid-19 patients is still above the national average; while those in intensive care are below the national average (0.5%).

VACCINES – Once again, the vaccination campaign is confirmed as having now stopped : the percentage of the population that has not received any dose of vaccine is equal to 13.8% (Italian average 14%) to which must be added the temporarily protected population, in how much recovered from Covid-19 for less than 180 days, equal to 0.3%.

The over 5 year old population who did not receive the third dose of the vaccine is 18.4% (Italian average 15.8%) to which must be added the over 5 year old population healed for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third immediate dose, equal to 1.3%.

The vaccination coverage rate with the fourth dose is 22.6% (Italian average 31.3%), while that with the fifth dose is 10.9% (Italian average 15.7%). Between 5 and 11 years of age, only 41.8% of children have completed the vaccination cycle (Italian average 35.4%) to which to add a further 4.4% (Italian average 3.2%) only with the first dose.
