The epidemiological curve of the Covid-19 in Sardinia continues to improve. The Gimbe Foundation notes it in the usual weekly report.

Between 3 and 9 March the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants dropped from 34.2 to 29.8 and there was a 13% decrease in new cases compared to the previous week . A generalized drop in incidence in all provinces: more in Oristano (18 per 100 thousand inhabitants and -41.7% compared to the previous week), less in Southern Sardinia (30 and -2.8%).

In the metropolitan city of Cagliari the incidence is equal to 37 per 100 thousand inhabitants (-20.1% compared to the previous week), in the Sassari area 31 (+3.5% compared to the previous week) and in the Nuoro area 18 (-26% compared to the previous week).

The number of beds in the medical area (7.6%) occupied by Covid-19 patients remain above the national average ; while those in intensive care are below the national average (1%) .

On the vaccine front, the campaign is practically non-existent with numbers that do not differ from one another from one week to the next: the percentage of the population that has not received any dose of vaccine is always equal to 13.7% (Italy average 13 .9%) to which to add the temporarily protected population, as recovered from Covid-19 for less than 180 days, equal to 0.3%.

The over 5 year old population who did not receive the third dose of the vaccine is 18.2% (Italian average 15.6%) to which must be added the over 5 year old population healed for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third immediate dose, equal to 1.4%.

The vaccination coverage rate with the fourth dose is 22.6% (Italian average 31.3%), while that with the fifth dose is 10.8% (Italian average 15.6%).

Among the youngest, in the 5-11 range those who have completed the vaccination cycle are only 41.8% (Italian average 35.4%) to add a further 4.4% (Italian average 3.2%) only with first dose.
