The Public Prosecutor of Cagliari has requested the indictment of the leaders of the Aias of Decimomannu , the president Maria Paola Randazzo and the health director Maria Teresa Oranoon .
According to the Prosecutor, they would not have done the necessary to prevent the spread of Covid in the sheltered house for the disabled in Decimomannu between the middle and the end of November 2020. The accusation is that of a culpable epidemic.
The request came at the end of an investigation by the Nas carabinieri coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Daniele Caria .
The first preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday 4 July in front of judge Maria Cristina Ornano who will have to decide on the request for trial made by the public prosecutor.
The two suspects are assisted by the lawyers Massimo Delogu and Roberto Nati .
The story that gave rise to the investigation by the Prosecutor's Office is linked to the infection of two operators and a guest who would then have determined the onset of an outbreak between various guests and employees of the protected house. According to the accusation, no areas have been created to isolate suspected cases, separate paths and conditions necessary to prevent the spread of Covid .
