Sensational decision of the Court of Appeal of Rome for one of the investigations that in 2016 had made the Court of Tempio Pausania tremble. The second instance judges, overturning the 2018 sentence, acquitted the judge of the Court of Tempio Pausania, Vincenzo Cristiano and the businessman from Olbia, Manuel Spano with the broadest formula .

The Court of Appeal of Rome accepted all the requests of the defence , the lawyers Giovanni Azzena and Antonello Desini. Cristiano was accused of having received a computer and a van on loan from Spano, after a trial in which the businessman was acquitted.

The judge of Tempio Pausania was arrested by the police on the orders of the investigating judge of Rome and has always proclaimed himself innocent. The entrepreneur from Olbia, Manuel Spano, has always said that he is a friend of Cristiano, but that he has never asked him for any favours, a reconstruction of the facts that was confirmed in the appeal investigation, even the Attorney General asked for acquittal of the defendants.

Cristiano had been sentenced to five years in prison for corruption in judicial acts and Spano to four years and eight months.
