Of the 61 workers checked in 18 inspected companies, 48 were found to be in breach of the law: 41 for contractual violations and 7 completely undeclared, including 3 non-EU citizens with regular residence but without any social security, insurance, or contractual protection.

This is the result of the inspections conducted over the past two months by the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate of Nuoro and the Provincial Command, in collaboration with the Territorial Labor Inspectorate.

The inspections, conducted in the municipalities of San Teodoro, Budoni, Loculi, Tortolì, Bari Sardo, Macomer, and Genoni, involved businesses operating in the construction, agricultural, industrial, commercial, and restaurant sectors. All inspected businesses were found to be in breach of regulations, with violations ranging from the employment of undocumented workers to failure to comply with safety regulations.

Construction sector: safety lacking

In the construction sector, the most serious irregularities involved the use of unregistered personnel and failure to comply with safety regulations. The military noted the lack of medical examinations to certify fitness for work, mandatory training that was never provided, and the use of structures and equipment that did not comply with regulations, such as trestle bridges and dangerous walkways.

Agriculture and industry: lack of health surveillance

On agricultural farms, particularly those dedicated to sheep farming, illegal workers were identified, lacking health supervision and the required professional training. A carpentry shop, classified as an industrial facility, employed workers to install its products on unsuitable scaffolding, exposing them to serious risks.

Submerged in bars and restaurants

In public establishments and commercial businesses—bars, pastry shops, and restaurants—checks identified workers without contracts or social security benefits. In two cases, companies were fined for installing unauthorized video surveillance systems, potentially used for the illicit remote monitoring of employees.

There are over 38 thousand euros in fines and high contributions

The inspection concluded with the imposition of administrative and criminal fines totaling €38,326, in addition to the recovery of social security and insurance contributions amounting to €3,500.
