There should be 50 to be activated by 2026. None, in Sardinia, is operational. Yet the Community Houses - financed with 2 billion from the Pnrr for all of Italy - had been described as crucial to try to address the drama of the absence of territorial medicine. The Sardinian stalemate - and not only - emerges from a preview of the Sole 24 Ore on the latest monitoring carried out by the Ministry of Health, with an update in June.

The Island is crying, but the rest of Italy is not smiling: out of 1,420 community homes planned, only 413 are active in the entire Peninsula (over half in Lombardy alone). In 120 of these, the presence of doctors is not yet foreseen. In Sardinia, therefore, those structures that, open from 12 to 24, should guarantee visits, tests, vaccinations and other preventive services are completely missing.

And the system continues to struggle. The latest monitoring of the Lea (Essential Levels of Assistance) says that on this side of the Tyrrhenian Sea the situation is critical on the prevention front (46.55 points when the sufficiency is 60) and in the district area (50.45 points). Things are better in the hospitals (69.11) : it is on these that all the health work is unloaded that should be distributed, in various phases, throughout the territory. And the crash is near.

In the Region they know it: the Council has spoken about healthcare that does not work. The solution found? To appoint a commissioner for the healthcare companies. But even this step seems to be slow: the issue, despite the bill approved at Villa Devoto, is not yet on the agenda in the Regional Council.
