For now the matter had remained out of the political dispute, but the controversy over the bust of the former PCI secretary Enrico Berlinguer positioned in the Town Hall square is destined to soon arrive on the benches of the City Council .

The council minority group is in fact preparing an interpellation to be presented to the civic assembly to ask for clarifications from the mayor Donato Cau and, above all, to understand whether he intends to follow up on the request of around forty members of the former local section of the PCI, in order to allow a scroll to be placed under the bust with the writing: "In memory of the communists of Mogoro who fought for freedom, justice and the emancipation of work. The comrades of the PCI section placed".

To date, the Council has denied authorization for the placement of the plaque because " according to the building regulations, works exposed to public view must not contain elements attributable to political ideologies and movements" . Decision contested by the members of the former PCI section, who turned to the lawyers of the Berlinguer Foundation to be right. The intervention of the prefect of Oristano Angieri has already been requested and now the issue will also reach the council chamber.
