A sudden failure of the Coghinas 2 aqueduct system is causing disruption in the municipality of Castelsardo. Along State Road 200 near the port, water from the broken Coghinas 2 aqueduct will likely flow throughout the night. The municipal administration, led by Mayor Maria Lucia Tirotto, is monitoring the situation along with the Civil Protection Department and the local police. Anas has installed warning signs.

The city administration urges motorists to proceed with caution along the stretch of state road 200 near the tourist port. The roadway is currently flooded in the Ispighia area. ENAS (National Energy Agency) had initially scheduled the water supply to be shut off at 7:00 AM tomorrow. The mayor requested an immediate shutoff of the aqueduct and traveled to the site to monitor the civil defense and local police operations, which were activated to monitor traffic. This break in the Coghinas 2 pipeline does not affect the Abbanoa water supply to Castelsardo, which continues to be guaranteed thanks to the bypass built to protect the city from the ongoing aqueduct failures.
