More revocations (and forfeits), fewer and fewer recipients. The number of Sardinians (or rather, those who applied in Sardinia) who lose the benefit of citizenship income is increasing every year. Either because it turns out that they collected it without being entitled to it or, otherwise, because of an improvement in their economic conditions that makes them lose the requirements.

The October figure will experience a peak: the police have discovered 300 foreigners who were stealing money thanks to scams. And another 200 positions are under consideration.

This is yesterday's chronicle. For the long term there are the surveys of INPS, the institute that distributes the DRC and keeps the accounts. In addition to carrying out the checks.

In 2020, just 319 cunning ones had been caught (over 10 thousand decayed). But the measure had only been introduced in April of the previous year. In 2021, 1,932 were discovered (compared to 12,854 forfeits). While in the current year, and only until September, the “pinched” income scammers have already been 2,293. The lapsed were 8,041.

The result: after the boom in requests and concessions, citizenship income in Sardinia is now a benefit for many, of course, but the “smart” people are less and less. Prisoners were discovered who collected it, foreigners who had only applied to the island and returned to their country, winners of large sums at the scratch card that milked the state every month. And a whole other series of "creatives" of false poverty, just to cash in without working.

The cross-checks are now tighter. And the numbers are as follows.

In 2022 (until September, the numbers could further reduce) there are just over 61 thousand families (who have applied in Sardinia, not necessarily Sardinian) in which at least one aid enters. While 117 thousand people are involved. With an average monthly amount of 514 euros. Last year alone (from January to December) there were 65,747 families with over 128,000 members.

Among those who are no longer there are those who are better off, economically. And who was discovered holding the card without being entitled to it: this year there were 250 per month on the island.
