The gang rape trial in Tempio Pausania is nearing its final stages, with Ciro Grillo and three of his Genoese friends, Edoardo Capitta, Vittorio Lauria, and Francesco Corsiglia, on trial.

The ruling is expected next week . Having postponed the September 1st hearing due to the closure of the Courthouse, the court will return to the courtroom on Tuesday the 2nd at 10:30 a.m. for replies from Prosecutor Gregorio Capasso and the civil parties' lawyers, while the defense team's counter-replies will most likely be on Wednesday the 3rd. The verdict after the deliberation could arrive on Thursday the 4th, concluding the first instance of a proceeding that began three years ago, with the first technical hearing on March 16, 2022.

The crimes the four young men are accused of date back six years, specifically to the night between July 16 and 17, 2019, when the gang rape allegedly took place in the villa owned by the Grillo family in Porto Cervo. The rape involved a 19-year-old Italian-Norwegian student and her friend, who was the same age.

After concluding his closing argument, Prosecutor Capasso requested a nine-year prison sentence for all defendants, acknowledging the generic circumstances and additional consequences. "We're talking about six young people who were 19 years old at the time. Two girls who suffered what they suffered, four boys who are still living in a dramatic situation," the prosecutor stated.

For their part, the four defendants have always maintained their innocence, declaring that the sexual relations had been consensual and consentual.
