An accident occurred late Tuesday in the center of Ghilarza. A sixty-one-year-old man of Moroccan origin, but a longtime resident of the town, fell from the roof of his rented apartment .

He was fixing the corrugated roof after last night's rain when the roof collapsed and he ended up in the attic, falling about two metres.

The alarm was raised immediately, and the 61-year-old was transferred by air ambulance to Nuoro hospital with a red code.

The Carabinieri and firefighters were also on site.
