Chicco and Rita, a love beyond any difficulty: she gives him a kidney saving his life

Chicco Collu and Rita Orrù are witnesses of a love that goes beyond any difficulty . Together for over forty years, two children, they have always faced his illness together. In 1995 Chicco, who had just turned 35, was diagnosed with a kidney problem and the long ordeal of dialysis began for him. Until 2016, when his wife decides to give him one of her two kidneys and thus save his life . On November 22nd, united more than ever, they celebrated the anniversary of the rebirth.

«They were difficult years, I was limited in my outings, in my travels, every time in order to be able to do one I had to plan the dialysis first. There were days when I couldn't tolerate cars and I wanted to disconnect everything ».

A first transplant that went wrong in 2011 had initially thrown the man into despair, but the desire to take many more steps together prompted him to register on the transplant list in Padua. Rita in all his choices has always been by his side.

« He married me three times: the first time in 1985, the second time when we renewed our promises for the 25th anniversary, and the third time six years ago when he organized everything to give me back a peaceful life without privations , after years of dialysis and suffering», says Chicco Collu.
