It is located by the sea, a scar on the landscape and on the coast which is now frequented by many tourists. It is the Sacro Cuore orphanage, a structure born in the 1950s as an ideal place to host orphaned children, at the time one of the few human presences on the beach of Ampurias, on the Lu Bagnu coast of Castelsardo. A thousand square meters of surface for a building in ruins , abandoned for about thirty years.

The carabinieri of the Noe of Sassari , under the command of Giuseppe Iovene, have affixed the seals putting an end to a situation of danger for physical safety and public health. Inside were car wrecks, old furniture, broken toys, and asbestos . A real ecological bomb , a pile of material that tells the story of human suffering, a spectral aspect that instills fear in anyone who tries to snoop inside.

On the first floor, a large hall and a staircase leading to the old bedrooms, with stacked beds, statues of saints with severed heads, objects covered in sand , the only element present everywhere as if it had taken over that structure. A real "eco-monster" that the military have closed with red and white tape with the authorization of the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, to avoid risks to the vagabonds who camp out there at night. Owned by two companies, La Miradda srl of Castelsardo and Edil Alguer of Bergamo, the property was abandoned without any safety measures, with broken glass and the mistral wind that brought dust and sand inside.
