The autopsy will try to clarify the causes of death of the 6-year-old Roman child who drowned on Saturday afternoon in the swimming pool of the Cala Luas resort in Cardedu, where he spent the holidays with his parents and little sister.

The examination will be performed by Roberto Demontis in the Nostra Signora della Mercede hospital in Lanusei. The prosecutor of Lanusei Giovanna Morra, owner of the investigation, has opened a file for manslaughter against unknown persons.

An act due to allow the investigations of the Carabinieri of the Jerzu Company, who acquired the testimonies and carried out the surveys in the place of the tragedy, which took place in a sunny and relaxing afternoon under the eyes of the parents and the little sister of the child.

THE RECONSTRUCTION

A resort guest at around 6.15 pm on Saturday afternoon would have noticed that the baby was floating on the still surface of the water .

He wore a mask and snorkel with his face on the water and perhaps for this reason the gravity of the situation would not have been immediately noticed from outside the small pool suitable for children: the height of the water in some places reached one and a half meters, in others were only half a meter deep.

The resort's lifeguards intervened immediately and an Areus helicopter arrived from Olbia. The 118 doctors tried to resuscitate the baby for over an hour, there was nothing they could do.

The most likely hypothesis is that the child has had an illness and has not had the strength to ask for help . The tragedy has thrown into despair the parents and the little sister of the child but also all the people present in the resort.
