Chaos at the Sirai of Carbonia .

Due to a shortage of anaesthesiologists, a 16-year-old boy who has been hospitalized since last Monday with a compound fracture to a femur and a broken collarbone after a fall from his scooter is still awaiting surgery .

“My son has a broken femur in two. If they don't operate on him by today, I'll pay for an ambulance, take him away from Carbonia and ask that he be assisted in Cagliari: we've been waiting for the operation for eight days», says father Roberto Vasselli.

He is not the only one, there are dozens of patients waiting, with operating sessions reduced to a minimum.

Sirai should be the hospital in charge of urgent emergencies (where it operates 7 days a week and 24 hours a day) but from theory to practice there is an abyss. A few days ago the family members of other patients had rebelled. Some of them have been waiting for surgery since December 21st.
