Carabinieri in action to reclaim the area from the carcasses of abandoned cars.

The military have put under the scrutiny the now unused cars which, instead of being delivered to the authorized "junkyards" for legal disposal, are left by the owners to fend for themselves by the owners, to avoid disbursements.

The military then launched targeted investigations, identifying the owners of twenty vehicles in a state of abandonment and the measures were taken : in addition to the payment of the related penalties - for a total of around 25,000 euros - they were ordered to promptly proceed with the removal of the carcasses, real "ecological bombs" , as they are considered special waste with a high risk for the environment.

Furthermore, the military of the Alà dei Sardi station - proceeding with the monitoring of rural areas - identified an illegal dump that unknown persons had built on municipal land. Also amassed several slabs of corrugated roofing in fiber cement, or the infamous Eternit and whose pulverization in the atmosphere is highly carcinogenic to humans.
