Chase in the night on the 195 in Capoterra. The Carabinieri of Pula, who were passing along the main road around 3.30am, noticed a Fiat Panda proceeding dangerously in a zigzag and, with light and acoustic signals, they imposed a halt. The driver, however, accelerated trying to get away and the soldiers chased him. After about a kilometre, the patrol overtook the small car to slow it down and at that point the driver, increasing speed, hit the Gazzella.

On board the Panda there were a 25-year-old from Capoterra and an 18-year-old from Uta who was behind the wheel, who was found to be intoxicated after the breath test. The young man was also reported for resisting a public official and aggravated damage. Furthermore, he was fined as he did not have a driving licence, having never obtained one.

The other boy on board was reported to the Prefecture as a drug user because he was found in possession of 2 grams of marijuana.
