Still no agreement has been reached between Brotzu Hospital and the union regarding meal vouchers and canteen services for nurses. The conciliation attempt held this morning at the Cagliari Territorial Labor Inspectorate in the dispute brought by Nursing Up on behalf of approximately one hundred nurses at Arnas Brotzu ended in failure. The matter will now be brought before the courts.

At the heart of the dispute is the lack of access to canteen services for staff working afternoon and night shifts , as well as on weekends and holidays. According to the union, these workers are not guaranteed canteen service or meal vouchers , despite the fact that the contract and case law recognize this right for shifts longer than six hours .

"It's a disgrace," says Diego Murracino, regional manager of Nursing Up Sardegna , "that despite a Supreme Court ruling establishing the right to canteen meals or meal vouchers, Brotzu has rejected any agreement." "We question the point of a company policy that prefers to litigate against its nurses rather than recognize a legal right," concludes Murracino.
