A violent collision occurred on the former 131 highway near the Li Lioni district, at the entrance to Porto Torres . A Mercedes collided with a truck while both were traveling toward the town.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. when the car, likely attempting to overtake, struck the rear of the truck, which ended up on the ditch. Both vehicles were destroyed . Some workers on their way to work were on board.

Both drivers were injured and taken by ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata Civil Hospital in Sassari. Their injuries are not serious.

Firefighters were on site to secure the scene and remove the vehicles transported by tow trucks. Carabinieri officers from the Porto Torres branch were also present to conduct surveys and reconstruct the incident.

To regulate traffic, the Porto Torres local police officers also blocked traffic at the intersection with Bancali for over two hours.
