Near tragedy in Cala Liberotto, Orosei: three children and their father risked drowning but were saved by the timely intervention of two off-duty carabinieri.

The two soldiers, Lucio Beradesca and Giovanni Da Silva, both from the Bitti Carabinieri Station, free from duty, were relaxing on the beach when, alerted by the screams, they saw three children and their father in the water, far from the shore and in difficulty due to strong current.

The two soldiers immediately dived into the water and took them to safety. The four, a family of Tuscan tourists on holiday, were in good health, so much so that the intervention of the health workers and the Coast Guard who were on their way to the scene was not necessary.
