The municipal police have issued over 31 thousand fines to Cagliari motorists. An average - we read in the mid-year report - of around 5,200 violations per month, 173.4 per day.

There are those who exceed the speed limits, those who drive without a license or with an expired inspection.

But the undisputed record belongs to the irregular stop, the main sin of the Cagliari driver. A practice that alone covers over two thirds of the violations ascertained in the first half of 2023, which closes at 31,223: of these, 22,503 concern cars left where they shouldn't be.

The second step of the podium goes to the unhealthy habit of exceeding the speed limits, on the third we find 814 motorists guilty of driving an uninspected vehicle. But there are those who managed to do even worse: this is the case of the 161 who thought about driving without having yet gotten their license, or the 22 who, despite having had it revoked, continued to drive. Added to this are 410 fines for lack of insurance and 265 for seat belts not received. While, surprisingly, the episodes linked to cell phone use are just under 500; 522 to be precise.
