Too many, too frequent and ultimately uneconomical: it was no longer convenient for the Sardinian Sea Port Authority to carry out continuous patching interventions on the sea walkway, made of wood and metal, which connects the Ichnusa pier to Su Siccu, passing in front at the Admiralty and at the back of the Alberti high school.

«In recent years it has become necessary to intervene frequently and in emergencies», explain the Authority , «for the maintenance of the walking surface of the promenade (which has now been built for about ten years), in order to guarantee its use by the citizens in condition of safety" , but "constant interventions are becoming uneconomical over time".

For this reason, on 20 September 2022, the task was assigned - worth 90 thousand euros - for the design of the "maintenance and safety of the seaside promenade in front of the Navy".

The plan was recently approved and in recent days the construction of the works was awarded: the work will be carried out by the Ediltekna company of Fonni. The intervention, all inclusive, will cost almost one million and 700 thousand euros.

Now a short phase will be necessary to verify that the successful company meets the requirements, then the construction site will open. And it will be the promenade that will be closed, while the workers will be in the field: access will be prohibited only after October 30, the Port Authority says.
