It's raining and Via Roma in Cagliari is flooding.

Controversy erupted within hours (and after a heavy downpour) over the condition of the historic road, renovated by order of the previous council, in the rain: the pavement was submerged, and it was impossible to walk or drive in front of the porticoes .

Was it due to some design flaw or an underestimation of weather conditions? No, according to Roberto Mura, a member of the majority coalition that had supported the redevelopment in the previous council session.

"Simply," he explains, "the drain under the ficus tree hadn't been cleaned ; it was clogged with leaves. This is what emerged at the Mobility Committee this afternoon."

A hypothesis, waiting for the next flood.
