The deceased uncle, the aunt hospitalized in a retirement home. The desire of a 53-year-old from Cagliari to vacate the house which, in all probability, she would have received as an inheritance upon the death of her elderly relative, was transformed into a free complaint on charges of destruction, suppression or theft of dead body.

In recent weeks, after her aunt's hospitalization, the woman had started clearing the elderly relatives' house of furniture and old objects to throw in the garbage. Among these, the 53-year-old also handed over a cinerary urn containing the remains of her cousin of the same age to the sanitation workers: seven years ago, after the premature death of their daughter, her parents had her cremated and had kept the urn at home, guarding it with love.

Now the cousin tried to get rid of it together with the other objects to be thrown away, but the operators of the disposal plant called the police who, once the investigations were completed, reported her free. The file has now landed in the Prosecutor's Office and the woman risks a sentence of between two months and a year.
