Cagliari, they break the fence at the port for fun and throw it into the water. The images have been released: "Let them be a warning"
The raid by a small group of very young people, the Port System Authority: «We don't want to remain silent, shame»For a mere pastime they tore down part of the fence that protects the old maritime station of Molo Sanità, in Cagliari, and then hurled the barriers into the sea.
The vandalistic raid was committed on Saturday evening, around 8pm, by a small group of children in the areas under the jurisdiction of the AdSP in the central stretch of the capital's seafront. All under the eyes of the cameras.
«A gesture without any logical explanation - writes the AdSP in a note - other than that of deliberately wanting to cause damage to the port and Cagliari community as a whole . The latest in a long list of acts of vandalism which, for a few days, have started to occur again on the waterfront, which has once again become an evening meeting place for groups of rowdy young people and, last but not least, illegal immigrants who use the moored boats as shelters for at night or for theft of valuable objects".
Faced with these acts « the Port System Authority does not intend to remain silent , both with the aim of not leaving what happened unpunished, but, above all, to ensure that the community and the institutions begin a serious reflection on the origin of this discomfort social. This is why it was decided to make public what is well documented by the images of the video surveillance circuits, so that the scenes filmed are a warning to the young people involved themselves, against whom the organization has already filed a complaint ."
«I am deeply saddened and, at the same time, determined not to leave this serious and incomprehensible gesture unpunished – explains Massimo Deiana, President of the AdSP of the Sea of Sardinia – For years we have been working to redevelop the waterfront of Cagliari and make it accessible to the community . We have spent tens of millions of euros to restore a decent view of the sea to the city and today these sacrifices are cowardly nullified by individuals without principles who are disrespectful of the public good. Having no other such effective tools to appeal to the community, we are making the video surveillance images public, so that those who recognize what happened on Saturday evening can reflect and realize the stupidity of the gesture. To them, in a loud voice, I say, shame, shame, shame!
